Tata’s upcoming Tiago EV facelift has been spotted testing on public roads for the first time. Cloaked in full-body camouflage, this is the second update to the Indian brand’s most affordable EV since its debut back in 2022. While Tata Motors is yet to reveal any details, spy shots of its facelifted electric hatchback’s test mule give us some insight into what we can expect from the 2026 Tiago EV.
- Cosmetic changes are expected to be minimal
- Facelift could bring more safety measures and a revised gauge cluster
- Existing 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery options to be carried forward
2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift design
Minor styling tweaks to soft parts likely; no major changes expected
The Tiago EV’s second update is expected to be relatively minor in its execution. Nevertheless, this facelift is expected to feature a slightly reworked front bumper, perhaps with revised daytime-running elements within the headlight housing. Similarly, the production-spec model could get mildly reworked tail-lights and a slightly tweaked rear bumper. Tata is likely to offer new exterior colour options, while top trims could be offered with alloy wheels of a different design.
2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift interior and features
Few new features aside, no major design alterations expected
Tata Motors is unlikely to make significant changes to the interior of the 2026 Tiago EV, considering the 2025 model update was fairly comprehensive. However, this facelift is likely to come with a new digital driver’s display styling, providing more relevant details and looking neater at the same time. While Tata may offer a mildly revised centre console, much of the interior will be carried over from the existing model.
Some of the equipment available on the existing model includes a 10.25-inch touch-infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, iRA connected-car features and a cooled glovebox. Higher trims are now likely to get a wireless charging pad. Where the entry-level trims of the Tiago EV currently only get dual front airbags as standard, the updated 2026 model should offer six airbags across the board.
2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift powertrain
Major updates to the existing electric powertrain options are unlikely
The Tiago EV MR (or Medium Range) presently uses a 19.2kWh battery pack that energises a front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor, producing 60hp and 110Nm of torque. The top-end Tiago EV LR (Long Range) variant gets the same electric motor mated to a 24kWh battery and develops 74hp and 114Nm of torque.
These powertrain specifications and their overall setup are likely to remain unchanged with the 2026 facelift. The maximum MIDC range of the updated Tiago EV is expected to be similar to its predecessor as well, where it is rated at 223km and 293km for the MR and LR variants, respectively.
2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift expected price
The 2025 Tata Tiago is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base XE and top XZ+ Tech Lux trims, respectively. Considering the limited updates expected for the Tiago EV facelift, the prices could go up by around Rs 10,000-20,000, depending on the trim. Competitors to this Tata hatchback will be the MG Comet and lower variants of the Citroen eC3.
