Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a litre-class supersport motorcycle powered by a 998cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that produces 196PS and 112Nm of torque. With the ram-air intake, maximum power rises to 205PS. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and gets a race-focused chassis, integrated aerodynamic winglets, fully adjustable suspension and Brembo front brakes. Other features include a full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, electronic cruise control, riding modes and traction control.
In our earlier review of Autocar India, the Ninja ZX-10R impressed with its explosive acceleration, stable handling and ability to deal with uneven road surfaces despite its track-focused setup. The engine became increasingly exciting at higher revs, while the quickshifter made gear changes feel seamless. However, its aggressive riding position can become tiring on longer journeys, and its performance is best enjoyed on a racetrack rather than public roads. The ZX-10R suits experienced riders looking for a powerful superbike with sharp handling and advanced electronics.

9.0
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R gets a sharper, more aggressive design inspired by the Ninja H2. The new front end features recessed LED headlamps, a central air intake and integrated aerodynamic ducts that improve high-speed downforce. The redesigned fairing also helps direct engine heat away from the rider, while the overall fit and finish remain premium.
6.0
The ZX-10R has a committed supersport riding position with lower clip-ons and higher footpegs. While this setup is ideal for track riding, it can become tiring on longer road rides, putting strain on the wrists, back and neck. However, the revised suspension offers impressive ride quality and handles uneven roads better than expected.
9.0
The 998cc inline-four engine produces 203hp, rising to 213hp with ram air. Despite its immense performance, the engine feels surprisingly tractable at low speeds and can comfortably handle city riding. The revised gearing, smooth quickshifter and refined throttle response make the bike easier to ride, while the thrilling acceleration and addictive inline-four exhaust note deliver an unforgettable superbike experience. Heat management is also impressive in traffic.
9.0
The updated chassis offers excellent stability through corners while remaining quick to change direction. The fully adjustable Showa suspension absorbs bumps well and provides confidence even on imperfect roads. Despite its extreme performance, the ZX-10R feels predictable and forgiving, making it easier to ride than expected.
7.0
The ZX-10R comes with a comprehensive electronics package that includes three riding modes, five-level traction control, cornering ABS, a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch TFT display and custom rider modes. These systems work seamlessly to improve both performance and rider confidence.
8.0
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R delivers exceptional performance, impressive electronics and superb handling at a price that offers outstanding value in the litre-class superbike segment. While it is best enjoyed on a racetrack, it remains surprisingly manageable on the road.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comparison

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Mileage
As per ARAI, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R mileage is 15.15kpl. The 998cc inline-four engine prioritises performance, and actual fuel consumption will depend on traffic, engine speed, riding conditions and how often the motorcycle is ridden hard. Its 17-litre fuel tank offers a theoretical range of around 258km at the listed mileage.
Every Ninja ZX-10R uses the same engine and six-speed gearbox, so fuel efficiency depends more on riding conditions than on the colour chosen. Frequent acceleration, high-rev riding and track use can increase fuel consumption, while steady speeds and smoother throttle inputs can help improve efficiency. The listed mileage is not a guarantee of real-world fuel economy.
