Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Expert Review

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R gets a sharper, more aggressive design inspired by the Ninja H2. The new front end features recessed LED headlamps, a central air intake and integrated aerodynamic ducts that improve high-speed downforce. The redesigned fairing also helps direct engine heat away from the rider, while the overall fit and finish remain premium.

The ZX-10R has a committed supersport riding position with lower clip-ons and higher footpegs. While this setup is ideal for track riding, it can become tiring on longer road rides, putting strain on the wrists, back and neck. However, the revised suspension offers impressive ride quality and handles uneven roads better than expected.

The 998cc inline-four engine produces 203hp, rising to 213hp with ram air. Despite its immense performance, the engine feels surprisingly tractable at low speeds and can comfortably handle city riding. The revised gearing, smooth quickshifter and refined throttle response make the bike easier to ride, while the thrilling acceleration and addictive inline-four exhaust note deliver an unforgettable superbike experience. Heat management is also impressive in traffic.

The updated chassis offers excellent stability through corners while remaining quick to change direction. The fully adjustable Showa suspension absorbs bumps well and provides confidence even on imperfect roads. Despite its extreme performance, the ZX-10R feels predictable and forgiving, making it easier to ride than expected.

The ZX-10R comes with a comprehensive electronics package that includes three riding modes, five-level traction control, cornering ABS, a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch TFT display and custom rider modes. These systems work seamlessly to improve both performance and rider confidence.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R delivers exceptional performance, impressive electronics and superb handling at a price that offers outstanding value in the litre-class superbike segment. While it is best enjoyed on a racetrack, it remains surprisingly manageable on the road.
