Ducati Streetfighter V4 Expert Review
Ducati Streetfighter V4 expert review
10
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 has an aggressive design that immediately grabs attention. Finished in the exclusive Dark Stealth matte black colour on the S variant, it looks every bit like a stripped-down Panigale. The sharp bodywork, muscular fuel tank and signature winglets give it a purposeful appearance. Build quality is excellent, with premium materials and a high level of fit and finish that matches its premium price.

Streetfighter V4 offers a more comfortable riding position thanks to its wide handlebar and upright ergonomics. This makes it much easier to ride on public roads than its fully faired sibling. The seat is well padded and comfortable for a performance motorcycle, although its 845mm seat height may be challenging for shorter riders. City riding is affected by the heavy, grabby clutch, a wide turning radius and significant engine heat, especially in slow-moving traffic.

The 208hp V4 engine delivers breathtaking performance, yet it is smoother and more manageable than expected. It can even cruise comfortably at low speeds in higher gears, making it surprisingly usable on normal roads. When pushed hard, however, the engine unleashes incredible acceleration. The motorcycle prefers high-octane fuel, and fuel efficiency can drop into single digits during spirited riding. It also lacks a fuel gauge, offering only a low-fuel warning light.

The Streetfighter V4 combines superbike-level handling with improved road comfort. It inspires confidence through corners, offering excellent front-end feel and stability. While the rear suspension may feel slightly soft over bumpy roads, it can be adjusted through the electronic suspension settings. The Pirelli tyres provide outstanding grip, while the Brembo Stylema brakes deliver exceptional stopping power. Overall, the bike's capabilities are far beyond what most riders can fully use on public roads.

The Streetfighter V4 comes with a comprehensive electronics package borrowed from the Panigale. It includes multiple riding modes, power modes, traction control, slide control, launch control, engine brake control and a TFT display. These advanced rider aids make the motorcycle's immense performance easier to manage and improve rider confidence.

The Streetfighter V4 delivers the thrilling Panigale experience in a package that is significantly more enjoyable and practical on the road. It remains an extreme machine, but one that is surprisingly friendly and deeply rewarding to ride.
