The seat on the R 1300 GS is on the firmer side, which works well for the rider but is not the most comfortable for a pillion over long distances.

But BMW also offers an optional Adaptive Ride Height system which is available on some variants and can drop the suspension by 30mm at speeds below 30kph. Routine service visits usually cost between Rs 10,000 and Rs 22,000 depending on the service checklist. Brake pads (front and rear sets) range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 27,000. A fresh set of tyres will cost around Rs 50,000. Overall, maintenance costs are on the higher side. 

In the Indian pre-owned market, a well-maintained R 1300 GS may retain around 75% to 85% of its value, depending on the variant, installed packages, and kilometres ridden.
