In a two-wheeler industry that is dominated by motorcycles and scooters, there exists a market for low-capacity mopeds where TVS is the king of the hill.

Now, the Chennai-based manufacturer has just launched the XL 100 moped in Uttar Pradesh. The moped gets a larger, 100cc engine, but retains the form and utilitarian design from the previous mopeds in the XL family. The XL 100 is available across all TVS dealerships in five colours: black, red, green, blue and grey.

As with the previous generations, the XL 100 will be aimed at the rural customer, who needs a vehicle that delivers the ruggedness of a motorcycle and the utility of a scooter. Large wheels, a light body and a lower price make mopeds a great buying option for these customers.

The XL 100 has, however, been limited to Uttar Pradesh only for now, and there is no information about if and when it will be made available in other states.
