Mercedes-AMG and MV Agusta join hands

Performance carmaker Mercedes-AMG signs corporation agreement with sportsbike manufacturer MV Agusta.

Mercedes-AMG from the house of Daimler AG and Italian performance motorcycle brand, MV Agusta have just signed a partnership agreement. Mercedes-AMG is set to acquire a 25 percent interest in MV Agusta Motor S.p.A, with primary cooperation between the two brands announced as going to cover marketing and sales areas.

Mercedes-AMG is also to appoint one member from the MV Agusta board of directors, the partnership now only pending subject to approvals from relevant authorities, expected to come in this November.

Giovanni Castiglioni, President and CEO MV Agusta has stated, “MV Agusta and Mercedes-AMG are a perfect brand fit: two complimentary companies that stand for design, high performance and excellence. Mercedes-AMG will help MV Agusta to further expand globally and to accelerate our growth. The uniqueness of MV Agusta will further enhance Mercedes-AMG’s leadership in the high-performance segment.”

Though still to be launched in India, MV Agusta has viewed our market with interest for some time now, acknowledging the growing importance of the high volumes Indian market. MV Agusta manufactures a well known, exotic range of superbikes with three and four cylinder engines from 675cc to 1100cc.

MV Agusta are about to reveal their latest range of motorcycles at the EICMA International motor show, Milan. MV Agusta’s present range includes well known motorcycles like the Brutale 800RR and Dragster 800RR. MV also has a touring bike range called the Turismo Veloce 800.
