Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its electric three-wheeler e-Alfa Mini priced at Rs 1,12,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in an official filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

With this launch, Mahindra now has the widest range of EVs in the country, across segments, for both people and goods transportation. The range now includes the e2o Plus hatchback, the eVerito mid-sized sedan, the eSupro van and the e-Alfa Mini three-wheeler.

The e-Alfa Mini has a seating capacity of 4+1 and has been designed with Indian conditions in mind. The eco-friendly vehicle is on sale in Delhi-NCR currently and will be available in Kolkata, Lucknow and other cities in a phased manner.

The e-Alfa Mini comes with an attractive exterior design, robust body, large cabin space for passenger comfort and superior suspension and chassis.

It is powered by a 120Ah battery, a powerful motor, and controller. According to Mahindra, charging the e-Alfa Mini will be as simple as charging a mobile phone. And when fully charged, the e-Alfa Mini is said to be able to cover up to 85km in standard conditions, with a top speed of 25kph.

The e-Alfa Mini will be manufactured at M&M's Haridwar plant with a planned capacity of 1,000 units per month. Indraprastha Auto, the company's existing dealer, will market the product in NCR through 12 dealerships and also appoint 20-25 sub-dealers in the next couple of months.

Speaking at the launch of the e-Alfa Mini, Rajan Wadhera, president, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “As the pioneer of electric vehicles and integrated mobility solutions in India, it has always been our endeavour to make EVs more accessible and best suited for Indian conditions. The launch of the e-Alfa Mini is yet another step to provide an emission-free, green mode of safe intra-city transportation in the country. At Mahindra, we are aligned to the government’s vision to become a 100 percent EV nation by 2030.”

Mahindra will offer consumers a benefit scheme that comprises a two-year warranty, EMI option of Rs 6,800 per month along with low down payment of Rs 45,000 and one free battery replacement.

Both are really good-looking bikes; while the Scrambler looks ready for action, the Street Twin looks purposefully laid back.

All digital, but no gear indicator.

With quick power delivery, the Scrambler’s motor is ever ready to... scramble!

MT60 tyres have good road grip.

Compact switchgear looks modern.

Brakes are super responsive.

DRL ring adds modern feel.

Scrambler’s tail-light looks marvelous.

Throttle is ride-by-wire.

Seat is supremely comfortable.

Parallel-twin exhaust note is sinful.

The 900cc parallel-twin’s soothing nature is this bike’s real highlight.

Front tyre is a bias-ply design.

Alloy bracket for headlamp looks great.

Analogue speedo, but no tacho.

The two colour schemes hike prices by just Rs 300.
