KTM hikes prices across range

Price hike comes after the Central government recently cancelled the excise duty concession.

KTM has increased prices of all the four motorcycles sold in India following the recent cancellation of the excise duty concession. The central government had subsidised excise duty rate to eight percent from the earlier 12 percent to help boost sales in the automotive sector in 2014.

KTM is one of the first motorcycle brands to have increased their prices in India. This was however, in order as the brand has to keep up with the ever increasing cost of running the show. KTM has increased prices in the range of Rs 1,500 - 13,000.

KTM are also set to introduce a new slipper clutch system for their motorcycles in the near future. A slipper clutch prevents a motorcycles rear wheel from locking up while downshifting and releasing the clutch abruptly. This technology will make the motorcycle more forgiving when ridden hard. We hope this upward trend of pricing does not discourage buyers from purchasing the still-good value for money performance motorcycles in India.
