Jawa, the Czech motorcycle brand that Classic Legends holds exclusive rights to manufacture, sell, and revive in India, has revealed a new 730 Twin for global markets.

Currently, the Jawa global site has three models listed under its 750cc platform – a retro, a racer and a tourer. This new 730 Twin is expected to join this platform, featuring the same 730cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine producing 75hp at 8,200rpm and 68Nm of torque at 7,100rpm. Jawa says this engine was developed in collaboration with Swiss engineering specialist Suter, best known for its involvement and success in the Moto2 championship between 2010 and 2012.

In terms of styling, the 730 Twin adopts a rather unique take on the cafe racer theme. The front end looks prominently raked out, and the round headlight features a design similar to what we’ve seen on some classic Jawa models, including the revived iterations sold in India. The bike gets a single-seat setup with an integrated tail-light, while the number plate holder is a swingarm-mounted unit.

Hardware-wise, the 730 Twin features a USD fork from KYB and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by twin Brembo calipers up front, and the bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Features include a TFT display with navigation and connectivity functions, including call and SMS alerts.

The Jawa 730 Twin is expected to launch at the Motosalon trade fair in Brno, Czech Republic, next month. However, it’s worth reiterating that this 730 Twin is developed by Jawa Moto in the Czech Republic and has no connection to the Jawa motorcycles sold in India. The Indian Jawa models – like the Jawa 42, Jawa 350 and Jawa Perak – are developed locally by Classic Legends under a licensing agreement with Jawa Moto and are tailored specifically for our market. As such, the Jawa 730 Twin is unlikely to be launched in India.
