Indian Motorcycle to inaugurate Bengaluru showroom

Indian Motorcycle, the American cruiser motorcycle brand, is all set to inaugurate its showroom on Infantry Road in Bangalore, India on May 7, 2015. The company’s first showroom was inaugurated in 2014 in Delhi.

The American brand will unveil for the first time, two new motorcycles never seen before in India, the Dark Horse and the Roadmaster.

Indian Dark Horse: The Dark Horse is based on the Indian Chief which is currently on sale in India. The cruiser has a single saddle and black-finished panels and wheels. The Dark Horse is powered by the same engine that powers majority of the Indian motorcycles, a 1,811cc, four-stroke, V-twin and air-cooled engine, developing 14.16kgm of torque at 2,600rpm. The Dark Horse uses disc brakes up front and a single one at rear. Suspension duties are carried out by telescopic front forks, whereas an adjustable, pneumatic single shock does duty at rear. Braking is carried out by ABS-equipped disc brakes up front and a single disc brake at rear. The Dark Horse costs Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Indian Roadmaster: The Indian Roadmaster is the American brand's top-of--the-line motorcycle for global markets, ready to be unveiled for the first time in India. It is equipped with an adjustable transparent windshield for the rider, actuated by a button. It is also equipped with heated handle grips, and the rider and passenger get individually adjustable heated seats too. Indian also fits the Roadmaster with three weather-proof hard saddle bags that can accommodate 140 litres of luggage. A 200-watt stereo system with smartphone compatibility is also provided for entertainment. The Roadmaster is powered by the same engine that powers the Dark Horse — a 1,811cc, four-stroke, V-twin and air-cooled engine,
