Korean bike maker Hyosung and Indian partner Garware are all set to expand their motorcycle line-up, introducing the GT250 in India as early as March 2012.

The GT250 has recently been revamped, and comes powered by a fuel injected, air and oil-cooled, 249cc, V-twin engine. Power figures, yet to be revealed for the 2012 model is expected to be close to 30bhp. The GT250 features a five-speed, one-down, four-up gearbox and comes in a naked, as well as faired variant. Upside-down type front forks and a link-type rear monoshock take care of suspension, while braking is via a single 300mm front disc and a 230mm disc at rear.

Hyosung is likely to price the GT250 competitively given that it shall face stiff competition from worthy rivals like the Kawasaki Bajaj Ninja 250R, Honda’s CBR250R and KTM and Bajaj’s upcoming 200cc bike. The GT250 should ideally undercut the Honda CBR250R by a considerable margin, so we hope to see pricing that is sub Rs 1.5 lakh.
