Hero MotoCorp has an equity investment in Erik Buell Racing and its subsidiary EBR LLC. With EBR filing for an ‘Assignment for Benefit of Creditors’ of the Wisconsin Statutes, similar to the federal bankruptcy law of the United States of America, both EBR and EBR LLC have stopped undertaking any operations.

Even at this juncture, Hero MotoCorp remains confident that its future product line-up would not be adversely affected despite EBR ceasing operations, due to Hero's strong in-house research and development capabilities.

Hero MotoCorp also say that their Centre for Global Innovation, Research & Design located in Kukas, Rajasthan will commence operations soon and is expected to have around 600 engineers from India and around the world. This division will be headed by Markus Braunsperger who earlier worked for BMW, and is now with Hero MotoCorp.
