Harley-Davidson’s CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) department is known for amplifying every quality of the brand’s already ostentatious big cruisers, and now, two CVO models have been launched in India. In this story, we’ll be focusing on the less expensive and more traditional-looking of the two – the CVO Street Glide, priced at Rs 63.03 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
- Big V-Twin engine rated for 115hp, 189Nm of torque

Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide: All details
Has a high grade of finish, extra features over standard model
Since this is the CVO Street Glide we’re talking about, Harley-Davidson has plonked the larger 121CI (1,982cc) engine - unlike the standard model which uses the 117CI (1,917cc) V-twin - making 115hp at 4,500rpm and 189Nm of torque at a low 3,000rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission, with a slip-and-assist clutch handling gearshifting duties.

While this huge lump of an engine is cradled by the same frame, the cycle parts on the CVO Street Glide are higher spec than the ‘regular’ model. You’ve got Brembo 4-piston radially-mounted calipers up front and rear suspension that’s adjustable for preload with a handy remote adjuster. But the real highlight of a CVO model is just the sheer amount of attention to detail and bespoke finishes it has over its standard counterpart.
You’ve got deep, rich and layered paint finishes, new lighter aluminium wheels, colour matched parts and billet components sprinkled throughout the bike and every touch point as well as part in the rider’s POV will be of a higher grade and have a better finish than the already luxurious standard model on the CVO Street Glide. Speaking of paint, the CVO Street Glide can be had in three colours. It also comes in two finishes - chrome or blacked out. The former finish has only one colour available, while the latter gives you the choice to pick between two options.
Since the CVO Street Glide is one of Harley-Davidson’s touring-focused models, you’ve got loads of standard equipment like a huge 12.3-inch TFT display, music system in the ‘batwing’ fairing and saddlebags, as well as a comprehensive suite of electronic aids like ABS, traction control, hill-hold control and cruise control, all aided by an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). As is the case with other touring-focused Harleys, the CVO Street Glide is a properly prodigious motorcycle. With its 22.7 litre fuel tank brimmed, it has a kerb weight of 380kg. However, with a low seat height of just 680mm and a not-too-terrible 140mm of ground clearance on offer, it could prove to be just about usable in our peculiar Indian riding environs.

At Rs 63.03 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the CVO Street Glide is the second-most expensive Harley-Davidson in India, after its sibling - the CVO Road Glide. It is by no means an affordable machine but as is the case with most flagship models, it is meant to serve as a halo product and an aspirational purchase. Its competition from other manufacturers would include the Honda Gold Wing GL1800 (Rs 42.82 lakh) and the BMW R 18 Transcontinental (Rs 34.73 lakh), and you could also consider its aforementioned sibling if you’re in the market for an ultra-luxurious road-going tourer.
