Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced that it will launch its one-make series here in India called the Gixxer Cup. The racing calendar is scheduled to begin this June and will continue up to October 2015.

The series will have two categories and they will function simultaneously; Novice for the beginners, and Open for experienced riders.

Suzuki will themselves provide 20 race-prepped Gixxer SF motorcycles for the five rounds of
racing. The competition will be held, in conjunction with the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship, at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai. A dedicated team of experts and pit crew will be available for support to riders.

Suzuki aims to set new standards for one-make races in India and hopes to promote motorsports as well. Atul Gupta, vice president, Suzuki Motorcycle India said that they wish to showcase the full potential of the Gixxer, and try and provide an affordable platform for local riders to further hone their skills.
