As we had illustrated in Autocar India's February 2011 issue, Yamaha is all set to bring out the updated YZF-R15 motorcycle. The R15 will now sport a chunkier rear tyre as also a new, chiselled tail fairing with an attractive LED brake lamp. A restyled front fairing, new split seats, stylish rear number plate mount and rear tyre-hugger mudguard are other major changes. While we do not expect any changes to the R15's four-stroke, liquid-cooled and single-cylinder 149.8cc engine, we expect Yamaha to offer the bike at a reduced price.

The Japanese manufacturer has been facing the heat since arch-rival Honda brought in the larger CBR250R and this move could be crucial to maintain buyer interest in the R15. Stay tuned for further updates.
