Eurogrip at EICMA 2025

Like every year, Eurogrip had a stall at EICMA this year and alongside launching the more off-road focused version of the Trailhound, it has also announced its intent of launching a more sporty iteration of the Protorq Extreme, dubbed as the Protorq Max.

3. Eurogrip is also working on sizes for smaller-capacity bikes

Eurogrip launches Trailhound Wild

The Trailhound Wild is a more-offroad focused tyre

Just a few months ago we reported that Eurogrip is working on a superbike tyre and there was a slick version of that on display. Now, Eurogrip has showcased the tread version of it at EICMA 2025. However, the brand has zeroed down on the final two tread patterns and they are extensively testing them; both those tread patterns were on display. It is mainly targeted at higher-capacity models ranging from 600cc-1000cc. Eurogrip also had a Ducati Panigale V2 at its stall shod in these Protorq Max tyres.

The Protorq Max is slated to be an evolution or a more sporty iteration of the Protorq Extreme and will be available starting from 200-section, 190-section and even a 180-section. There will also be a 120-section front-tyre to go with the wide rear tyre. Eventually, these tyres will be offered in narrower rear sizes to better suit our Indian sporty naked’s that typically wear 150/140-section rubber.
In terms of benchmark, this hasn’t been pitted against the Pirelli SuperCorsa – that is almost as good as slicks – but rather the Bridgestone S23, Rosso IV and Metzeler M9. These tyres typically have a great mix of road usage and track-ready grip. We expect the Protorq Max to be launched in India, sometime next year.

Alongside the Protorq Max, the brand also launched the Trailhound Wild that is a more off-road focused version of the pre-existing Trailhound. It is a tyre with 70-percent focus on off-road riding and the rest of it for the roads. However, it’s not available in a wide variety of sizes and mainly 140-section and lower that is typically seen on popular off-road bikes in India, such as the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
