Bologna-based bike maker Ducati has revealed nine new bikes, ready to hit roads globally in 2016. The Ducati World Première, took place in Milan, where top manufacturers revealed their latest motorcycles and scooters. Traditionally associated with the colour red, Ducati has now brought in a new hue into the family, Yellow, as compliments its Scrambler brand. The bike maker already has four Scramblers – the Classic, Icon, Full Throttle and the Urban Enduro – that are available in India too. For 2016, Ducati has added two new Scramblers; the Scrambler Flat Track Pro, the sportiest Scrambler yet, with lowered handlebars and a high performance, and a Termignoni exhaust system in place. The second bike is one that promises to be a star in the Indian market – a smaller capacity 400cc, V-twin, two-valve per cylinder engine equipped model named Sixty2, after the year in which the Italian company introduced its first Scrambler model.
The Italian big bike specialist also has for 2016, an all-terrain conquering Multistrada 1200 Enduro tourer, powered by a potent 1199cc, DVT or Desmodromic Variable Timing system equipped engine, that outputs 13.9kgm of torque. The Multistrada 1200 Enduro is loaded with technology and electronic riding aids, with the highlight being the Vehicle Hold Control, to help the motorcycle clamber uphill from a standstill. It also offers four riding modes to suit different riding conditiond; Touring, Enduro, Sport and Urban, each of which alter engine response, braking, suspension and traction control settings.
Also revealed in Milan is a sportier Ducati Multistrada 1200, a re-introduction of the Pikes Peak edition tourer that Ducati developed to pay homage to the famous annual hill-climb racing event where Ducati saw considerable success. The Pikes Peak Multistrada will use a 1199cc, variable valve timing equipped DVT engine, and comes with a lower visor, adjustable Ohlins suspension, loads of carbon-fibre bits and a Termignoni exhaust.
