BMW has launched its most affordable offering in India, the BMW G 310 R, at Rs 2.45 lakh. The sport-naked is now BS6-compliant and gets other small changes.

    • The G 310 R now costs almost Rs 55,000 less than it originally did.

    • Power and torque remain unchanged at 34hp and 28Nm

    • Features LED lighting and new colour schemes

The BMW G 310 R was originally launched in 2018 at Rs 2.99 lakh, but at that price, it was considered more expensive than its competition. Dealers also began selling it at a much lower price in December 2019. Now, the sport-naked’s price has officially been revised with the new BS6-compliant iteration and it’s now available at Rs 2.45 lakh.

While the BMW G 310 R sits between the KTM 250 Duke (Rs 2.09 lakh) and 390 Duke (Rs 2.58 lakh), in terms of power and torque figures, it’s still closer to the latter when it comes to its pricing. Speaking of the power and torque figures, the motorcycle continues to make 34hp at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7,500rpm from its 313cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.

BMW has also switched to all-LED lighting on the updated bike. While the older model only had an LED tail-light, the new one gets an LED headlight and turn indicators. Another big change comes in the form of the colour schemes.

The 2020 G 310 R is available in three colour schemes – blue and white, black and white, and a bright three-tone black, white and red. The three-tone option, called ‘Style Sport’, also features a red-coloured frame and wheels. Other changes on the 2020 G 310 R include ride-by-wire, adjustable levers and a different finish on the engine casing.

The G 310 R is available with a standard 3 years, unlimited kilometres warranty. Customers can extend the warranty by two years, by paying Rs 16,250. The first 500 customers can avail this extended warranty at a special price of Rs 5,499

    All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi.
