Royal Enfield resumes sales of Scram 440

Scram 440 availability currently limited, will be ramped up gradually.

The issue was related to a component called the Woodruff key within the magneto on a few bikes, and though the engines didn't stall mid-ride, it wouldn't restart once turned off.

Royal Enfield has taken all the necessary steps to rectify this and the company assures us that the motorcycle will now function as originally intended. Currently, availability of the Scram 440 is limited and we have been told that it will be ramped up in a gradual manner.

To recap, the Scram 440 serves as a replacement for the aging Scram 411 in RE’s line-up. It is powered by a 443cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine making 25.4hp and 34Nm, and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip/assist clutch. The Scram 440 comes with switchable ABS and alloy wheels on the top Force variant. It is priced between Rs 2.08 lakh and Rs 2.15 lakh, for the Trail and Force variants, respectively, and can be had in five colours.
