Suzuki appears to be having trouble keeping its upcoming motorcycles a secret. Leaked of images of brochures of the 2019 Gixxer SF 150 and SF 250 have revealed quite a bit of information. Now, images of the upcoming Gixxer SF 150 spotted at a dealership have made their way online days before the bike’s launch.
The Gixxer SF 150 that has been seen at the dealership features the same all gloss black colour scheme as the one in the brochure. The most notable styling element is the headlight, which hangs off the front end. This unit, as can be seen from the spy shots, is most definitely an LED unit.
The 2019 SF 150 can also be seen running a new split seat, in place of the single seat on the older model. The updated bike also uses a sportier clip-on handlebar that could change riding position slightly, but that remains to be seen. The chrome garnish on the double-barrel exhaust also appears to have gone through a redesign. Similarly, the instrument cluster has been tweaked a bit as well, and now features a slightly different layout and a white backlight instead of an orange one.
We expect the Gixxer SF 150 to be powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine as the current model. In its current form, it makes 14.8hp and 14Nm of torque. Other hardware elements, like the suspension and brakes, also appear to be similar, but that can be confirmed only when the official specifications are out. The updated Gixxer SF 150 will continue to offer single-channel ABS.
The updated model is expected to be priced only slightly higher than the current bike that starts from Rs 98,076 for the carburetted ABS-equipped unit. The 2019 Gixxer SF 150’s direct rival will continue to be Hero’s newly-launched Xtreme 200S that is priced at Rs 98,500.
