The BMW M 1000 R is a high-performance motorcycle built on the track-oriented S 1000 RR platform and is launched in India at Rs 33.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is powered by a 999cc, inline four motor that delivers 210hp and 113Nm. It does 0-100kph in a claimed 3.2 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 280kph. It also features an aggressive new dual flow headlight derived from the S 1000 RR. It also carries the winglets that claim to produce a downforce worth 11kgs at a speed of 220kph.
The M 1000 R is well equipped with electronic aids such as launch control, traction control, wheelie control, pit limiter and riding modes (road, rain, dynamic, race and race pro), all of which can be accessed through the 6.5 inch TFT display. It also comes standard with a quick throttle but can be further customised with the option of the M-competition package.
The BMW M 1000 R is available in three colour options, Light White/M Motorsport, White Aluminum Metallic Matte, and Blackstorm Metallic/M Motorsport.
