The updated Ducati Multistrada V2 has made its official debut in India with significant changes over its predecessor. The middleweight adventure tourer goes up against the Triumph Tiger 900 GT and BMW F 900 GS Adventure, and this is how the three stack up on paper.
Ducati Multistrada V2 vs rivals: Engine
The Multistrada V2 features the most powerful engine
While all three bikes are almost identical in cubic capacity, they vary largely in their configurations. The Multistrada V2 features a new 890cc V-twin borrowed from the Streetfighter and Panigale V2, and it makes more power than its rivals. Torque figures are nearly identical across the board; however, the different engine layouts will result in notably distinct character and differences in how that power is delivered.

Ducati Multistrada V2 vs rivals: Weight and dimensions
The BMW F 900 GS Adventure is the heaviest motorcycle
Ducati has only revealed how much the Multistrada V2 weighs without fuel. With its 19-litre tank – the smallest here – a fully fuelled Multi V2 will likely weigh close to the Tiger 900 GT’s 219kg and will almost certainly be lighter than the 246kg BMW F 900 GS Adventure. That said, the BMW also packs the largest fuel tank, which should give it the longest range between fuel stops.
The new Multistrada V2 is 18kg lighter than the outgoing model, thanks to a new aluminium monocoque frame and lighter engine components.
Both the Multistrada V2 and Tiger 900 GT come with adjustable seats as standard, with the Triumph offering a marginally lower seat height on paper. The BMW F 900 GS Adventure, meanwhile, has a tall 875mm seat but offers optional low and extra-low seats that reduce this to 835mm and 825mm, respectively.

Ducati Multistrada V2 vs rivals: Chassis
All three feature similar hardware configurations
The Multistrada V2 and Tiger 900 GT run on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, underlining their road-biased nature. The BMW, however, leans more toward off-road use, featuring a 21-inch front wheel and spoked rims.
The Ducati gets a fully adjustable USD fork and monoshock, both offering 170mm of travel. The base V2 features manual adjustability, while the V2 S variant adds Ducati’s Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active system.
The Triumph Tiger 900 GT also gets a USD fork, but with 10mm more front travel than the Ducati, while its rear setup offers the same 170mm. The BMW F 900 GS Adventure offers 230mm front and 215mm rear travel, making it the most capable off-roader of the bunch.
