The BMW F 450 RR is the third motorcycle built on BMW Motorrad’s 420cc platform, following the F 450 GS and F 450 R. It’s a fully faired sportbike with single-plane winglets and, like its siblings, is built by TVS at its Hosur facility. Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about it.

What engine does the BMW F 450 RR use?

The F 450 RR is powered by a 420cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine producing 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. This is the same engine that powers the F 450 GS and F 450 R, with identical peak output figures.

What is the seat height and weight of the BMW F 450 RR?

The F 450 RR has a seat height of 790mm, with optional accessory seats available to increase or reduce it to 810mm and 775mm, respectively. The base variant has a kerb weight of 177kg.

What features does the BMW F 450 RR have?

All four variants get a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and three riding modes – Rain, Road and Race. The electronics package includes lean-sensitive dual-channel ABS, traction control, wheelie control, dynamic brake control and engine drag torque control. Other standard equipment includes a slip-and-assist clutch, heated grips, adjustable brake and clutch levers, and a Type-C USB port.

On the hardware side, every variant gets a KYB 43mm USD fork and monoshock, a 310mm front disc with a Brembo four-piston monobloc caliper, and a 240mm rear disc with a Bybre single-piston caliper.

What variants will the BMW F 450 RR be available in?

The F 450 RR is offered in four variants – Base, Sport, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package – across three colours.

The Base variant has a monoshock adjustable for preload and rebound, while the USD fork is non-adjustable. The Sport adds a bi-directional quickshifter and sport suspension that allows compression and rebound adjustment at the front fork. The M Sport adds a fourth riding mode, Race Pro, which lets you customise systems such as ABS and traction control individually. Lastly, the range-topping M Sport with Innovation Package adds the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) system.

When is the BMW F 450 RR coming to India?

BMW hasn’t announced an India launch timeline or prices for the F 450 RR. The F 450 GS arrived in India about six months after its international reveal. Following that pattern, the F 450 R and F 450 RR could arrive around Q1 2027. For now, it’s also unclear how many of the four variants will make it to India.
