An upside-down (USD) fork was once a feature reserved for more premium motorcycles, largely due to the added complexity and, therefore, cost of manufacturing them. However, that’s changing, and manufacturers are now bringing the tech to more affordable machines. Here are the five most affordable bikes with a USD fork in India.
5. Hero Xtreme 160R 4V
Rs 1.30 lakh

The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V comes equipped with a chunky 37mm KYB USD fork. Priced at Rs 1,29,615, it is the most expensive motorcycle on this list and costs just Rs 425 more than the next one, the RTR 160 4V. Recently, Hero launched a new top-spec combat variant that gets cruise control borrowed from the Glamour X
4. TVS Apache RTR 160 4V
Rs 1.29 lakh

The Apache RTR 160 4V is available in seven variants, with only the top two featuring a USD fork. It also gets dual-channel ABS. The RTR 160 4V has long been considered a great all-round package, offering features such as ride modes, adjustable levers and a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Late last year, TVS updated the Apache RTR 4V range, giving it a new front look with a mono-projector headlight and a TFT dash.
3. TVS Ronin
Rs 1.25 lakh

The TVS Ronin features an unusually large 41mm Showa USD fork for its segment. Borrowed from the RR 310, it has been extensively reworked with revised spring and damping rates to suit the Ronin’s ride. Recently, TVS also launched a special 'Agonda' edition based on the Ronin's base variant.
2. Bajaj Pulsar N160
Rs 1.24 lakh

The Bajaj Pulsar N160 is available in four variants, with only the top two variants of the bike featuring a USD fork. Earlier, a USD fork on the N160 was reserved for the top-spec variant, but last year, Bajaj launched a new variant with a single-piece seat and a USD fork that is priced lower than the top-spec split-seat variant. The Split-seat variant continues to be priced Rs 2,000 more than this variant.
1. Honda CB125 Hornet
Rs 1.03 lakh

The CB125 Hornet is the most affordable motorcycle with a USD fork in India. This segment-first feature also makes it the smallest-capacity motorcycle in the country to get one. It also comes with a 4.3-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, making it a well-equipped bike for its price.
