The Citroen SUV is available with two engine options: an 82hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 110hp, turbocharged version of the same engine. The NA unit is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol block can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The NA petrol engine is available on the You and Plus trims, but you can also have the latter trim with the turbo-petrol engine. The top-spec Max variant, however, is offered only in the turbo guise.
While safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and hill hold are standard on the coupe SUV, we recommend the mid-spec Basalt X Plus Turbo trim for its well-balanced feature set. Our Citroen Basalt review stated that it's turbo-petrol engine packs brisk performance, with crisp accelerator responses coupled with nicely judged gear ratios. Compared to the top-spec Max Turbo trim which is only offered with an automatic, the Plus Turbo offers the option of a manual too. Lastly, the Rs 12.07 lakh-Basalt Plus Turbo AT trim will save you Rs 82,000 over the Rs 12.89 lakh-Max Turbo AT.
