I have pre-booked for Duster Hybrid, Nissan Tekton Hybrid and lastly Tata Sierra EV. Which one should I go for? My preference is to go for the earliest available one.

The Tata Sierra EV has already been launched, while the Renault Duster Hybrid and Nissan Tekton are still some time away. The Duster Hybrid is expected to offer an excellent balance of performance, efficiency and practicality, but you'll have to wait longer for it.

The choice really comes down to whether you're ready to make the switch to an EV. If you have access to reliable home charging and your driving pattern suits an EV, the Sierra EV is a very compelling option. Verdict: Since you've mentioned that you prefer to buy the earliest available car, we'd recommend going ahead with the Tata Sierra EV. It is already on sale, and if an EV fits your usage pattern, there's little reason to wait for the Duster Hybrid. Currently, the Duster is offered with two turbo-petrol engines: a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder unit from the Kiger and a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. The Renault Duster mileage ranges from 17.75kpl to 19.41kpl. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual returns 19.41kpl, while the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol delivers 17.75kpl to 18.45kpl, depending on the transmission.

I have an XUV400 purchased in 2024 with a range of 308 kms and I have used it for around 19000 kms. I was thinking whether I should sell this car now or wait for some more years. if I should sell the car now then what would be the resale price and which car should I go for sierra ev, duster hybrid, nissan tekton hybrid or any other good and safely build hybrid or ev car that you would suggest not costing too much or a max cap of 20 lacs

For your usage, a hybrid car makes more sense. With 40-50 km daily of city driving in Noida and no major traffic, an electric car would not deliver a meaningful cost advantage over a hybrid, and you would be taking on charging infrastructure and range planning for no real benefit. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris Hybrid is the best fit for your requirements. It is a full hybrid, so it offers excellent fuel efficiency in city driving and is also comfortable to be chauffeur-driven. The rear seat is spacious, the ride is comfortable, and the car is easy to live with. Headroom is a bit tight if you are on the taller side. Avoid the sunroof if that is the case for you.The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid is mechanically identical, but the Victoris gets a more premium interior and a better feature set at a similar price.If you can charge at home and still want to go electric, the Tata Sierra EV is the best option for your needs, but given your usage, the hybrid is the more sensible choice.

I am confused between the following cars: Renault Duster Adventure 1.3 DCT, Kia Seltos HTK(O) IVT, and Hyundai Creta S(O) IVT. We are a family of 3-4 with average builds, and we have comfortably used a Tiago for the last 6-7 years. I know I will enjoy driving the Duster, but from a practical standpoint, even the Kia and Creta seem very good at this point. Hence, the confusion. I haven't done many long trips in the Tiago, but I am planning to change that with the new car. I mainly want a car with comfortable ride quality that I can enjoy for a long time.

For your usage, the Skoda Kylaq is a good upgrade. Your 65 km daily expressway run means you need a car that is stable at speed and comfortable over long distances. The Kylaq delivers that very well. At your budget, you could get a lower-spec automatic, which would make it easy to drive in city traffic, which matters for your twice-a-month urban runs. The automatic gearbox is a torque converter, so its shifts are very smooth and it is very reliable too. The only possible downside is that fuel efficiency is not going to be very high, and given your high daily running, this is something that might bother you. If so, opt for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx 1.2L, which is also good at higher speeds and would be more fuel efficient. The auto box in this case is an AMT, which would not be as smooth, but this would only be a bit of a bother in city traffic and not on steady highway cruising.

I have been using Honda City manual for the last 21 years. Now, I want a car with automatic transmission for city running mostly. My average running is around 1000km a month. Can you suggest whether I should buy Seltos, Creta, Kushaq or Elevate?

The Kia Seltos IVT is the most natural recommendation here. The IVT gearbox is also very smooth, and the Seltos feels more premium and feature-rich than the competition. Alternatively, consider the Honda Elevate. The CVT is exceptionally smooth in stop-start traffic, Honda’s ownership experience is proven, and the car is simple, reliable and easy to live with.The Skoda Kushaq is the driver’s choice, with a more engaging driving experience, but in city running, that doesn't matter much. The Hyundai Creta is a good all-rounder, but it is due for a full model change in 2027, which makes the Seltos and Elevate stronger recommendations at this point.

Hey, We are planning to buy a sub-4-metre SUV, and our main requirement is good suspension for Bengaluru’s pothole-filled roads, especially as my wife is pregnant. We have shortlisted the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Tata Nexon. Which one would you recommend for our requirements? Given your priorities, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is the best fit. It has the most comfortable ride in the segment, with a suspension that deals with broken roads and potholes better than the Brezza or Nexon.
