The Nissan Magnite Tekna 1.0 Turbo Petrol CVT is the one you should consider. Your running is low, so petrol is the right choice, and this CVT automatic makes daily city driving very easy. It is small on the outside so parking is simple, but it still has good ground clearance and enough space for a small family. The turbo engine is strong enough, so quick passes on the highway do not need much planning, and it stays steady at cruising speeds.
There are a couple of trade-offs. The cabin feels simple, and some plastics look basic, and Nissan’s service network is not as wide as Maruti’s in smaller towns, so do check dealer support in your city. If you would rather have a bigger-feeling car from a brand with the widest service reach, look at the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi AT.

Get the Tata Punch EV. For a 30-50 km daily city run, it is the least stressful small SUV to live with, it is compact to park, it's high seating gives you a clear view, and it rides over speed breakers and bad roads without scraping. Running costs stay low with the EV, you get a quiet and refined drive and considering your daily running is not a lot, you'll be able to do multiple commutes on a single full charge. The cabin also feels airy and it is also one of the safer-feeling small cars in this budget.However, if you don't want an EV, look at the Nissan Magnite turbo CVT. It comes with a peppy engine, a smooth gearbox and it comes reasonably well-equipped too.

The Hyundai Venue HX 5+ 1.0 Turbo Petrol MT would be the first recommendation. It is easy to drive, has a well-sorted turbo-petrol engine, a strong service network and a proven ownership experience. For a first-time buyer, Hyundai's wider and more consistent aftersales support is a significant advantage. It is also easier to live with on a daily basis than some rivals.The Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 MT would be the second choice. It offers stronger performance, a wider cabin and feels more substantial on the road. However, its boot space is relatively small for family travel, which could become a limitation on occasional holiday trips with luggage. While Mahindra's service network has improved considerably, Hyundai still enjoys an edge in reach and consistency.One other option worth considering is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza Manual. Its naturally aspirated petrol engine may not feel as punchy or exciting as the turbocharged Venue or 3XO, and it is not as feature-rich either. However, for a first-time buyer, it remains one of the easiest SUVs to drive. The clutch is light, the gearbox is slick and progressive, and the ownership experience is among the most stress-free in the segment.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXI+ AT fits your list better. In daily use, it will return much better mileage than the Mahindra XUV 3XO turbo automatic, especially in city traffic where the Maruti’s 1.5 and mild-hybrid tune are kinder on fuel. Its steering is lighter and smoother at low speeds, so parking and tight lanes feel easier. And over years, Maruti service and parts usually work out cheaper, so maintenance is friendlier on the wallet.You will get a 360 camera in these trims, so that box is ticked either way.The one reason to pick the XUV 3XO AX5L AT is if you value stronger performance for highway overtakes and a more tech feel. The Mahindra’s turbo motor and the automatic feel livelier, but you pay at the pump.If your priority stack is mileage, low upkeep and an easy, smooth steer, go Brezza. If you want punch and features first, go 3XO.

You should go for the Mahindra XEV 9S. It's a proper three-row EV, and it fits your use case perfectly. With home solar charging, your running costs are very low, and the smooth, quiet drive is just right for city runs as a 4-seater. When you do need six or seven seats, the third row is reasonably spacious, and for your 500 km trip every couple of months, you’ll need just one quick top-up at a highway charger.Do note that with all three rows up, boot space is tight, so your highway trips will require some planning.Alternatively, consider the Kia Carens Clavis EV. It isn't as feature-rich and doesn't have as much range as the XEV 9S, but its third row is more comfortable for adults.

I am planning to purchase a new automatic car and am confused between the Honda Amaze ZX CVT and the Skoda Kylaq Signature Plus AT. My usage will be around 90% city driving, primarily for office commuting between Dwarka, Delhi and my office near IFFCO Chowk, Gurugram (approximately 25 km one way). However, I will not be driving daily, as I often use the Metro as well. The car will also be driven by my 69-year-old father, so ease of driving, comfort, visibility, ingress/egress, and reliability are important considerations. Our previous car was an Alto K10 Manual, so this will be our first automatic car and a significant upgrade. Considering my usage pattern, family profile and the fact that we intend to keep the car for a long period for around 10 years, which of these two would you recommend?

Based on your requirement, we would recommend the Honda Amaze ZX CVT over the Skoda Kylaq Signature+ AT. The reason is that your priorities are not outright performance or driving excitement. You are looking for a car that will spend 90% of its life in city traffic, will also be driven by your 69-year-old father, and is expected to stay with the family for around 10 years. In that context, Amaze's strengths line up perfectly with your requirements. The CVT is smoother than the Kylaq's torque converter automatic in stop-and-go traffic, visibility is excellent, the car is easy to place on the road, ingress and egress are straightforward, and Honda's long-term reliability record is hard to fault. Coming from an Alto K10, it will already feel like a substantial upgrade in comfort, refinement and features.The Kylaq Signature Plus AT is the more desirable car from an enthusiast's perspective. The 1.0 TSI turbo petrol has more punch, the higher seating position is nice, and the overall package feels more substantial. However, it is also a larger vehicle to manoeuvre, and while the automatic is good, it is not quite as seamless in everyday traffic as Honda's CVT.Another point in Amaze's favour is that the ZX variant gets Honda Sensing ADAS, which adds useful safety features without making the car complicated to operate. Since your father will also be driving it, that extra layer of safety is a nice bonus.

Skoda Kylaq is the better family automatic, mainly because it gives you a bit more cabin and boot space and a calmer ride over bad roads. It feels more secure at highway speeds with a full load, and its turbo engine with the automatic pulls cleanly, so hills and quick overtakes are easy even with the AC on. The petrol Kylaq automatic uses a torque convertor gearbox which is also smoother than the dual clutch unit on the Sonet so it would fare better in city traffic. Kia Sonet makes sense if you want more features and need Kia’s service reach which is wider. For weekend trips with four on board it will do the job too, but rear seat width and long-journey comfort are not its strong points and within a year it will get a major update, thus buying it now would not be ideal.
