I'm planning to buy my first car, but I'm a little confused about which one to choose. Initially, I was considering sub-4-metre SUVs. I really liked the Skoda Kylaq, but the rear-seat comfort wasn't adequate for my family. I also checked out the Mahindra XUV 3XO, but the dealership has not been following up, and I noticed a few technical glitches during my experience with the vehicle. Next, I considered the Hyundai Venue HX8 DCT, but I'm concerned about potential DCT overheating issues, especially in Chennai's bumper-to-bumper traffic. I'm now considering moving up to the midsize SUV segment and have shortlisted the facelifted Honda Elevate VX CVT and Kia Seltos HTK(O) IVT. I haven't considered the Hyundai Creta because its next-generation model is expected to launch next year. I'd love to hear your suggestions on which would be the better choice, considering reliability, after-sales service, long-term ownership and suitability for city driving conditions.

If you have the budget, the Kia Seltos IVT would be the best option for your needs. The Seltos' powertrain with the naturally aspirated engine and CVT gearbox is superb for the city and compared to the Honda Elevate it is a lot more feature-rich and practical. Space is good, seats are comfy and the engine is responsive too. The Elevate brings Honda's reliability but misses out on space, practicality and features compared to the Seltos. As a first car, the Seltos has easy to drive manners and will be a good choice for you.

Go with Kia Seltos 👍 I have visited seltos in showroom and its good in terms of overall comfort for driver and passengers. I think as per reviews the elevate does all the basics right. So if looking for extra features go for seltos. IVT and CVT both are similar so not mush difference there.

You must choose Honda elevate as I have been driving since it's introduction and it's really 'boss' car and if you are ready to spare few more bucks go for adas ZX top.model The honda sensing adas is really remarkable though I think you are responsible. Driver It really works So dont waste your time go for honda elevate. Or for that matter city or amaze I have previously used this chota gadi. NOW have big gadi. It gives city milage to 12 and highway 18 Average mixed 15 which is fair for 1500cc.

I am confused between Clavis X-line Turbo DCT and Seltos X (O) DCT. My running is 1200km on highway. Both shortlisted cars are similarly priced. According to you, which is a better option considering Seltos has some more features whereas Clavis provide good flexibility? Also, out of two, which one is more safe? There are 5 members in my family. Since Seltos is a new product, it has new electronic architecture. Which one is a better option?

Both models are good in their own meaning. However, it is the Kia Seltos that we'd recommend for your usage. It's built on a newer and superior platform that delivers a more refined experience with better noise insulation. Ride comfort is also better on the Seltos and there is ample space for five members of the family to sit in comfort. Further because it uses a new electronic architecture, it gets the latest software and hardware, including wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which is missing on the Carens Clavis. There is also some comfort in knowing that the new Kia Seltos is a five-star Bharat NCAP-rated car. The 160hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission are common to the two so performance-wise there is not going to be much difference. The Carens Clavis makes more sense if you have a genuine need for a third row of seats or if you will be carrying more luggage. With the third row folded, the Clavis is more accommodating than the Seltos.
