For a chauffeur-driven family of 4, which is the more comfortable car under a ₹35 lakh budget: Innova HyCross, the Skoda Kodiaq 5-seater variant, or the Jeep Meridian 5-seater variant? Which one offers the best second-row legroom?

Of these three, your best bet is the Toyota Innova HyCross. Apart from being the most affordable of the three, its MPV shape allows for maximum interior space and flexibility, and it has the best second row. It's flexible, too, with seats that slide, fold and flip. This Toyota car also has the most comfortable suspension and will transport your family comfortably and relatively silently.
The Skoda Kodiaq Lounge, sadly, is outside of your budget. Although this Skoda car is more luxurious and equally refined, it's simply not as spacious as the Toyota.
The Jeep Meridian has strong badge value and a luxurious interior, but this Jeep car is not as spacious, comfortable or refined as the Innova Hycross. Both SUVs are high on road presence, but just can't match the packaging superiority of the Toyota MPV.

Hi, I’m planning to upgrade my car. I currently drive an EcoSport diesel and am planning to buy a 7-seater. I’m confused between the XUV 7XO Diesel Automatic AX5 and the Toyota Hycross GX, as both fit into my budget at the moment. I usually drive around 200-300 km a month in city traffic for my office commute, and I also go on long trips of around 500-600 km one way once every three months. I want a car that is good on the highway, allows for good overtaking, and offers decent mileage. It should also be easy to maintain, as I don’t want to deal with frequent issues or headaches. Let me start by saying I love Autocar and its team. Keep up the good work. I currently own a Ertiga (petrol). I am looking for a 7-seater vehicle (preferably petrol) mainly to be used within city and occasional (once in a quarter) outstation trips. My daily driving is around 80-90 km. I have not thought about the budget at this stage. Kindly advise.
