I own a 2021 Maruti Brezza (petrol), which is not E20 compatible, and I am getting low mileage. Now I'm looking for a new car and am confused between the following options: Kia Seltos HTE(O) IVT, Hyundai Creta EX CVT, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta(O), and Skoda Kushaq (TC) I have seen a few posts and videos suggesting that the new Creta and Grand Vitara will be launched in the coming months. Should I wait for the new launches to get the best car? Kindly suggest, as having multiple options is creating a lot of confusion.

While your concerns are valid, do note that all cars will see a mileage drop running on E20 petrol; it's just that E10 compliant cars like your 2021 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will see a relatively higher impact due to the engine not being calibrated for the fuel. As for which car to pick, since mileage is your maximum priority, we recommend the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta (O). It remains the mileage king in its segment, and even when you factor in the efficiency drop, it will do better than the others you have shortlisted. Bear in mind, however, that it uses the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as your Brezza, so in terms of powertrain, it won't feel like much of an upgrade on that front. As for the new launches, the Grand Vitara may get a minor facelift later this year, but it will not really impact the overall ownership experience (or mileage), so we recommend going ahead and buying it now. The next-gen Hyundai Creta is not due until sometime in 2027.

Looking to buy a new car and am currently confused between the Hyundai Creta 1.5 Petrol Automatic and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta AT Mild-Hybrid. The car will be driven around 1,000 km per month, mostly in city traffic, with occasional highway trips. Based on your requirements our suggestion would be the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in its Zeta Automatic Mild Hybrid, guys. Since the car will not be driven a lot, it is a good option to consider. Given your preference for mileage, reliability, and maintenance costs, a Maruti is always better.The real-world efficiency of both these cars is not too different. The Maruti gives you an average of 13.4 km/L. The Hyundai Creta is slightly less at 13.1 but maintenance costs and service, on the whole, are going to be slightly cheaper with Maruti. In terms of performance, this Hyundai car is definitely better; however, you will not really experience a lot of difference driving in everyday city traffic. Even on the highway the Grand Vitara has enough grunt to overtake so it is not an absolute dealbreaker. The gearbox on the Grand Vitara is a torque converter automatic, which is a bit smoother and offers better highway performance. The Creta comes mated with a CVT, which is good in the city (it is nice and smooth) but not exactly perfect on the highway. If you do a lot of occasional highway trips, then the Maruti will be better there as well. My overall recommendation would be the Grand Vitara, given your preferences.

I am confused between the Grand Vitara Zeta CNG and the Victoris ZXi CNG. Please help me decide which one would be a better choice.

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Victoris ZXi CNG. Both the Grand Vitara and Victoris are essentially the same car underneath, sharing the same engine, platform and CNG powertrain, so performance, efficiency and reliability will be identical. The key difference is that the Victoris gets a brighter interior with a more modern-looking dashboard, and a slightly better feature list at a similar price point. The Victoris's biggest advantage is its underbody CNG tank, which doesn't compromise luggage space.

I am new to driving and am looking for a sub-4-metre petrol SUV with a torque converter automatic gearbox. My budget is around Rs 12-13 lakh on-road. I have shortlisted two options: the Skoda Kylaq Signature automatic and the Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro automatic. We are a family of five. My current usage is mostly within the city, but based on my future work requirements, it could shift to an 80:20 mix of city and highway driving.

For a new driver with predominantly city use, its 1.0 TSI with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic is smooth and easy to drive, while the compact dimensions make it relatively easy to manage in traffic. It also has a more mature, planted feel on the highway.The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro AT is the better choice if rear-seat space is the priority. Its cabin is wider and more accommodating for a family of five, and its 1.2 turbo-petrol makes 200Nm, giving it stronger low-end and mid-range performance than the Kylaq.However, the 3XO's boot is also one of its compromises, while the Kylaq offers a better balance of driving dynamics, boot space and highway manners. Which car should I buy among Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Petrol base or Kia Seltos petrol base? And also tell me if anyone has faced power issue or pickup issue while overtaking as I want the car for long term.

Between the two, the Seltos is the better choice, especially if you are looking at the base variant. It feels more premium, is the newer product and offers a more complete package even in its lower variants.The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol makes 115hp and 144Nm. It isn't a particularly powerful engine, but it is smooth and refined and is perfectly adequate for normal city driving.For overtaking, it won't have the punch of the Seltos turbo, but it isn't underpowered either. With a full load and during quick highway overtakes, you may need to plan ahead and use higher revs. The Grand Vitara's 1.5 petrol is also a smooth, simple powertrain, but its performance is more relaxed and the base variant is quite sparsely equipped.
