I am 40 years old, 5'2" tall, and weigh 70 kg. I currently ride a Yamaha Fascino and want to buy a motorcycle. The purpose is more to fulfill a long-held wish than for utility. Since you have mentioned you've ridden the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 in the past and you are buying this bike to fulfill a dream, we'd recommend the Bullet itself. It is a comfortable machine with a characterful and smooth engine and will fit within your budget too. If you want brighter colours and a slightly more different look, then look at its sibling, the Classic 350. If you want something that won't be as commonplace as either of these aforementioned bikes but still want a machine that can be used daily, their offbeat sibling, the Goan Classic 350 is the right bike for you. It has a lower seat height than both the Classic and Bullet which will make it easier for a person with a shorter frame like yours to manage around town, which is where you're going to be spending most of your time. Take test rides of the Goan and the Bullet and then make your decision based on which one you like more.

Since your budget is under Rs 1 lakh, pick a 100-110cc commuter from the likes of the Hero HF / Passion Plus, Honda Shine 100, Bajaj Platina 110 and TVS Sport / Star City Plus / Radeon models. The 100cc models will, of course, return more fuel efficiency than the 110s, and if you must have the lowest running costs possible, then opting for the smaller machines makes sense. All of these bikes have been around for a very long time and are hardy, reliable and time-tested products, so no matter which one you choose, you can't really go wrong. Take test rides to help make your decision process a little easier.

I am a third-year college student, and I've always wanted a bike. My dream bike is the KTM Duke 390, but I've settled on the Duke 250 because it seems easier to own. I will have to ask my parents to buy it for me, and I feel guilty about that, but I also can't let go of the dream of owning a KTM. My parents have set a budget of Rs. 2 lakh, while the Duke 250 costs around Rs. 2.7 lakh. Is it worth stretching the budget? Also, what is the best lower-capacity bike that offers an aggressive performance like a KTM? I don't like the Yamaha R15 because the riding position feels too cramped.

This bike will give you more performance than any other machine at this price point, and it's an exciting and engaging machine without being too cramped and uncomfortable. The NS400Z's on road price is also likely to cross the Rs 2 lakh mark, but it will well undercut the Rs 2.70 lakh asking price of the KTM 250 Duke.

Hi. I own a 2016 Activa 3G that has run around 49,000 kms. Would like to move to an electric scooter. Since my running is around 12 to 15 kms on average in a day, mostly in city traffic, is it advisable to move to an electric 2-wheeler? Also, which will be a buying option for my kind of usage.

Since your daily run is quite short, one of the entry-level variants of the TVS iQube or Bajaj Chetak models would make perfect sense. The iQube 2.2 is a great, no-nonsense electric scooter that will have more than enough range for your daily needs, and it doesn't feel hamstrung by lower performance or a barebones features list. You could even look at the Chetak C3001 and C3501 models, which will offer you more range with similar performance. The Chetak is also one of the most spacious electric scooters around, so if you are particularly tall, it may be the one to go for over the iQube. Take test rides of both and go for the one you lean towards more before making your decision.

Given your requirements, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X/XC is likely to be the best fit. Its upright and commanding riding position, smooth and tractable engine, and capable handling make it a true all-rounder, and it comfortably fits within your budget.If you want the look of an adventure bike or wish for more suspension travel, then options like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure should be on your shortlist. These bikes are better at highway duties than the Scrambler (not by much, but it is a tangible difference), although they are also heavier than it.It also depends on what your usage pattern is like.
