Which is better: Honda Elevate ZX automatic or Toyota Hyryder V petrol automatic?

Asked by: Mmm
The Honda Elevate is the better of the two. The biggest difference is in the powertrain. Honda’s 1.5 litre is far superior to the Toyota Hyryder’s Maruti-sourced 1.5 litre engine. Plus, the Honda car is more spacious, has a large boot, and is nicer to drive. Both cars are very reliable and are backed by good service. Overall, the Elevate is our pick.

Please suggest a mid-size SUV mainly for long highway trips and weekend travel with a family of four. Requirements include ADAS Level 2, a large boot, good mileage, good suspension for bad roads during long trips, and a diesel or strong hybrid powertrain. Budget is Rs 20 lakh.

The Kia Seltos is a good option for you. It offers a spacious, modern cabin, a generous 447-litre boot, and ADAS Level 2 on higher variants, satisfying most of your criteria. However, do keep in mind that modern diesel engines are no longer as fuel-efficient as they once were, largely due to emission norms. If you opt for the diesel manual HTX (A) variant, the on-road price will be a little over ₹20 lakh in most cities. Most strong hybrids currently on sale compromise on boot space because of battery packaging.

I am planning to buy a new petrol car for a family of 3 adults and 2 children. I am confused between the Hyundai Venue HX10, Tata Nexon Fearless Plus with ADAS, and Mahindra 3XO AX7L. I want fully loaded features. I live in a village, but the road conditions are good. Second-row comfort is my primary concern. Which is the best choice? Any other suggestions in the same segment?

The Mahindra XUV 3XO is a good option as it is spacious, offers a comfortable second row, and the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is punchy and enjoyable to drive. The 3XO also gets a long list of features, including a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tata Nexon is another good option. It is not as spacious as the 3XO, but it is still comfortable and has a good amount of features. The Venue is the newest car in the segment, and it does feel like one, too. It also gets a larger touchscreen and a bit more modern interior, but overall, the 3XO will fit your needs the best. The rear seat is spacious and more comfortable, the engine is more responsive, and it is loaded with features, especially in the top variants.

My daily travel is about 60-70 km in heavy traffic, with monthly usage averaging between 1,440 and 1,780 km. My budget is Rs 20-22 lakh for a 5-seater EV. Please suggest the best car among existing models, or I am willing to wait up to six months for upcoming options.

Since your average driving is on the higher side, a comfortable electric SUV will be a good choice. The Mahindra XEV 9S in its Pack One Above guise would be our recommendation, as it comes with a large 79 kWh battery pack and a real-world range of around 477 km on a single charge. It also offers a well-appointed cabin with lots of features and strong performance. It is a 7-seater, but the last row is suitable for children, and you can always fold it down and use it as a big boot space. Seating is comfortable with large, comfy seats, and the space overall is very good.
