I have been using a Maruti Wagon R AMT for the past 8 years and am now planning to upgrade. My monthly driving is around 1,000 km, with a mix of 50% city and 50% highway usage, along with three long trips annually of around 1,000 km each. My budget is around ₹12 lakh (on-road).

With your 1000 km monthly running and a 50:50 city highway mix, you need a car that is easy in traffic but also feels stable and relaxed on highways. The Brezza does this well. It is smooth to drive, comfortable over long distances and simple to live with, which makes it a big step up from your current car.

If you want something more fun to drive, the Mahindra XUV 3XO or Skoda Kylaq are good alternatives. They feel quicker and more engaging, especially on highways, but are not as easy-going in everyday ownership.

Consider Citroen C3X AT. Its is the most underrated, VFM, fun to drive , feature loaded, quick and effortless to drive car in under 11 Lacs in india. Pls do a test drive and u wont look back

It stays within budget in Bengaluru in most cases, uses less fuel in city traffic than the cars you’ve named, and Maruti’s service is the cheapest and easiest to find. The Brezza’s high seat and simple 1.5 petrol make it easy in Bengaluru traffic. If you’re coming from no car, you’ll also like how smooth and quiet it feels in daily use.Two things to note for you. It won’t feel as quick when you want a fast overtake as the XUV 3XO, and its cabin won’t wow you like the Kia trims. On your facelift question, if you can wait for a few months then yes, its always better getting a newer car, but you would likely pay a bit more.

Pick it because the cabin is roomy and the seat is set high, so getting in and out is easy, and there is good headroom for your height. Its 6-speed automatic is the smooth, torque converter type (not an AMT or DCT). Coming from your Nissan Magnite’s CVT, this will feel natural and calm in stop-and-go traffic and on slopes. Ride comfort is good over broken roads, and its simple 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine allows a vehicle of its size to be unstressed, fuel efficient and sufficiently powerful. Do note: The Brezza automatic is tuned for easy driving, not fast pick-up, so it feels relaxed rather than quick, and it hasn't been crash tested by any NCAP agency, though it has all the requisite safety features. Hi, I am confused between buying the Kia Seltos diesel, which I love for its interior and power and which gives around 15 km/l mileage, and the Toyota Hyryder, which involves a slight design compromise but offers 22+ km/l mileage. My daily running is around 70 km, including both city traffic and highway cruising. Also, please share if there is even the slightest possibility of a Kia Seltos hybrid coming next year, as I would be happy to wait.

Your usage is high, and the hybrid will use far less fuel in city traffic while staying calm and smooth. Mostly highway use, about 1,000 km a month, safety first, and an automatic in the Rs 12-13 lakh range, in that brief, we would suggest the Skoda Kylaq Signature. Its torque converter is much smoother than an AMT or DCT, so city driving feels easy, and performance from the 1.0 TSI makes highway overtakes effortless. The Kylaq has a 5-star crash score from Bharat NCAP and feels steady at highway speeds, which builds confidence. It also rides well over broken patches, so you are not tossed around.Two things to keep in mind: while the front seats are comfy and supportive, space in the back seat is a bit tight. It makes up for it with a large boot and a low loading lip. If you want more space, look at the Nissan Magnite Tekna Turbo CVT, which has a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP.Overall, for highway-heavy use with safety at the top, the Kylaq lines up best in your budget.
