I am considering the Skoda Kushaq, but am confused between the 1.0 and 1.5 variants. Around 80% of my driving is within the city, with occasional highway trips. I also want to know how effective the air conditioning is in the facelifted model, both in the 1.0 and 1.5 variants.

Pick the Skoda Kushaq 1.0. Your driving is mostly in the city, and the 1.0 feels easier and smoother at low speeds, uses a bit less fuel in traffic, and costs a lot less. It still has enough go for occasional highway runs. The 1.5 only really pays off if you do frequent long trips with a full load or you enjoy driving and value the added performance. One catch with the 1.0 is that it sounds a bit gruff when pushed.

About the AC, the facelift’s system is the same across 1.0 and 1.5. Skoda has addressed the early cars’ cooling complaints. The upgraded compressor now delivers best-in-class cooling, rapidly bringing the temperature down even on the hottest of days.

Also test drive both versions of the car as the suspension setup feel might be different in both with 1.0 feeling slightly stiffer as compared to 1.5 which might be overall better feel.

@sanjay.62 After driving the Kushaq, I felt you should go for 1.0 or if size is not the matter, than go for Kylaq

It would be better to go for 1.5 as 1.0 is a 3 cylinder engine and it cannot be compared to the refinement of a 4 cylinder engine of 1.5 litre. When using AC 1.0 average nosedives compared to 1.5 engine

@amitkumar just go with Kyshaq 1.5 not with duster... it's shows so many features for looks cool but it has same issue as previous version had... I had that and I observed so I suggest go with Kushaq

Kindly suggest which is best car to buy. Honda elevate V vs Hyryder S. And what are the key difference in base models

5w

@radz Elevate feels more robust for city use with better engine refinement and space, while Hyryder focuses more on fuel efficiency. Coming to base model differences, Hyryder offers better mileage and more features like rear AC vents, but Elevate V gives you a stronger engine, bigger cabin, and better driving comfort. If your priority is ease of driving and space, go for Elevate, but if you want better fuel efficiency and features, Hyryder is a better pick.

@radz what's your daily running in kms?

Skoda in india is very weak and cannot even handle small problems in sales and service so avoid at any cost else regret it later..hyryder is better option with toyota reliability and average above 25kmpl

@sanjay.62 Best would be Kushaq 1.0 TSI. It offers ample performance for everyday use, is more affordable, and easier to justify unless you regularly drive on highways. As for the facelift, the air conditioning has been improved and performs well in both the 1.0 and 1.5 variants, so I wouldn't base my decision on the AC rather I would choose the engine.
