I've been using a Creta automatic for the last 8 years, and now I want to upgrade to a premium automatic SUV (diesel or petrol) under ₹40 lakh. Could you please suggest the best vehicle for me? My priorities are safety, features, and brand value, and I am not worried about the resale value. Also, a small sub-question: When can I expect the 3rd generation Jeep Compass to launch in India?

The next-gen Jeep Compass will not come to India. Sources tell us that the new STLA Medium platform failed to meet the commercial viability for the Indian market, forcing Stellantis to cancel it. Your best option within the budget would be the Toyota Innova HyCross in the ZX (O) guise.
The top-spec strong-hybrid option gets the Ottoman seats in the middle row, which offer a very comfortable experience and with soft-touch material used in abundance, the cabin feels plush as well.
Also, being a Toyota car, it has strong reliability backing it, and it will hold its value very well throughout its lifetime. It is high on safety, has a well-equipped cabin and plenty of features and has strong brand value too.

I am planning to buy a new SUV. I am considering the Creta or Seltos, and if I look at a 7-seater, the XUV 7XO or Scorpio N. Which is better between the Creta and Seltos, and between the Scorpio N and XUV 7XO?

Between the Hyundai Creta and Seltos, both cars offer the same engine and gearbox options. However, the Kia Seltos is all-new, features a larger body, more cabin space, and feels a notch up in quality as well.Your choice of seven-seaters isn’t as similar. The Mahindra Scorpio N is built on a body-on-frame chassis, which means it's very tough and can take a lot of beating, but it's nowhere near as comfortable as the XUV 7XO, which has a larger cabin and far more features. The biggest difference between the two is ride quality: the Scorpio N, a tall-riding SUV, rocks from side to side and is quite bumpy on rough roads. In contrast, the Mahindra XUV 7XO, with its updated suspension, feels incredibly refined and comfortable. It softens the bumps and feels very stable at high speeds. So if you don’t travel on really bad roads, the XUV 7XO is a far better option.
