Maruti Autocross is coming to Mumbai at the Autocar Performance Show (APS) 2014. The APS is currently underway, and the Maruti Autocross event will take place on December 13 and 14. This year has already seen the Autocross being held at Delhi and Bangalore; it now comes to Mumbai for the fifth year. Maruti says that it expects around 150 entries this time.

Manohar Bhat, vice president, marketing, said, “Motorsports is about passion, responsibility and precision, and Maruti Suzuki has been associated with motorsport rallies for over two decades to encourage interest in car enthusiasts. Autocross is the stepping stone for drivers to test their skills, and prepare them for some of our bigger rallies – like Raid-de-Himalaya, Desert Storm and Dakshin Dare.”

The Autocross involves negotiating a dirt track within a limited time period. It is a test of speed and skill, and you can also opt to use your own car at the circuit. The Maruti Autocross offers enthusiasts a chance to drive hard, but with the safety aspect well taken care of with professional help and advice available to all participants.
