Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to enter the UK and several European markets by September this year, marking a major step in its global expansion strategy. The company will launch operations in the UK, Germany, France and Spain.

Hero’s global ambition
Launch in UK and key European markets by FY26.
Hero MotoCorp is set to begin retail operations in the UK and key European markets by the second quarter of FY2025-26, i.e. by September 2025. Executive chairman Pawan Munjal confirmed that the company will expand to the UK, Germany, France and Spain.
This marks the next phase in Hero’s overseas strategy and a renewed push for premium and electric mobility. The Vida VX2 electric scooter, first shown at EICMA 2023, is expected to spearhead the brand’s European entry. The company has described the model as a product designed for a global audience, and it could later be joined by higher-capacity ICE motorcycles like the Xtreme 250R, Mavrick 440 and Karizma models (all of which were shown at the previous year’s EICMA show).

Ahead of the launch, Hero has already laid groundwork in Europe, with distribution partners appointed across major markets. Hero also operates a technology centre in Germany, which will likely support its European foray.
Exports still a small slice of overall business.
Despite being present in 48 countries, Hero’s exports accounted for just 5.7 percent of its Rs 40,756 crore revenue in FY2024. The company exported 2.89 lakh two-wheelers last fiscal, registering a 44 percent year-on-year increase, significantly outpacing the industry export growth of 21.4 percent.
