Audi e-tron GT

Still based on the J1 platform, the new GT’s updates are mostly under the skin. Visually, it’s still striking with minor tweaks like new 21-inch wheels, vertical fins, and a tweaked rear light.

Interior changes are few. You get new trims like Carbon Camo, and leather-free fabric. Front seats are great, but the rear backrest is a bit too upright.

There are three e-tron GT variants – S, RS and RS Performance – and all now get more power. The S makes 680hp, the RS 857hp, and the top Performance version a wild 925hp. We drove the latter in Frankfurt. 0-100kph comes up in a gut-wrenching 2.5 seconds – 0.8sec quicker than before.
All 925hp is available only at launch; on the move you get 748hp, which is still plenty. A Boost button on the steering gives you 95hp more for 10 seconds only. There’s also an RS button for a quick toggle to RS1 and RS2 presets.
On the Autobahn, the e-tron GT is savagely quick. With Boost engaged, overtakes vanish in a flash. The rear motor is linked to a 2-speed gearbox, and you can feel it drop a gear when you accelerate hard. The front and rear motors are PSMs, with the rear one newly developed. Some hardware comes from the PPE platform that also underpins the Q6. Floor it, and the GT responds with a cool, synthesised growl that’s part EV whirr, part ICE snarl.

Power comes from a 105kWh (97kWh usable) battery that’s 9kg lighter. Claimed range is 481km WLTP. Audi has revised the cooling, separator material and cell chemistry. Charging speeds are now up to 320kW, getting you from 10–80 percent in just 18 minutes. You also get useful battery stats in the Virtual Cockpit.

The new optional active suspension combines air springs and hydraulic dampers. It even lifts the car for easier ingress. On the move, it works brilliantly to keep the car flat through corners, under braking, or over bumps. We tested it on a tight track and the body control was uncanny.

The new steering touchpad replaces buttons – not ideal. The RS1, RS2 and Boost buttons are nice, though. Screens and controls feel familiar and of high quality.

Launching in India mid-2025, the facelift brings real substance: more power, faster charging, better range, and a standout suspension. It’s a lot more than just a nip and tuck.
