Volvo XC60, V60 Polestar Engineered unveiled

Volvo has unveiled sporty Polestar Engineered versions of the V60 estate and XC60 SUV. Both these cars in their Polestar guise feature subtly redesigned front and rear bumpers, marginally flared wheel arches, new 10-spoke alloy wheels and a gloss black front grille, which give them an aggressive and sporty appearance.

Both the V60 and XC60 Polestar Engineered are based on the top-end T8 plug-in hybrid variant. The cars are powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder (turbocharged and supercharged) petrol engine that produces a combined 420hp and 670Nm of torque (15hp and 30Nm more than the standard XC60 T8). This is the same engine found in the S60 Polestar, though the sedan has it in a lower 405hp state of tune. Suspension parts have also been upgraded with an Öhlins-sourced front strut bar used to enhance the handling.

Coming to the interiors, both cars get sporty seats with enhanced bolstering for additional support, a charcoal shade interior and seatbelts finished in Polestar gold.  

Volvo has made no announcement about bringing either the V60 or XC60 Polestar Engineered to the Indian market. The company, however, has just announced that it registered a 25 percent growth in India this year, and this upward trend might encourage Volvo to bring the Polestar variants to our market sometime down the line.
