Volvo has silently launched the S60 R-Design in India at Rs 40.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The R-Design is a trim that includes some cosmetic modifications and additional equipment for the recently updated S60 sedan.

The front bumper gets a slight redesign with a low, black honeycomb air dam. The grille is blackened and gets an R-Design badge. It also gets new 18-inch, five-spoke, diamond cut alloys. The wing mirrors are now finished in silver and there is a new paint shade – Passion Red – on offer. At the rear, the two circular exhausts get chrome touches and there’s a prominent diffuser as well.

On the inside, the S60 R-Design gets a new audio system, paddle shifters on the steering wheel, sat-nav system and rear view camera.

We recently revealed that Volvo has updated the S60 sedan with a new 181bhp 2.0-litre Drive-E engine and a new eight-speed gearbox.

Launch of this sharper looking S60 following the recent debut of Volvo’s new Drive-E engines seem to be the brand’s attempt at reinvigorating its line-up, in an aggressive bid to up sales here.
