Volvo has revealed the facelifted V40 and V40 Cross Country. The two models get minor cosmetic updates to the exterior, and the addition of more features and interior trim options.

Exterior upgrades include a new grille mesh incorporating the Volvo iron mark and Volvo’s new Thor’s Hammer LED headlights, taken from the Swedish manufacturer’s S90, V90 and XC90. There are also five new exterior colours. The two cars additionally get a choice of eight new alloy wheels between all trim levels.

Inside, the car gets a new City Weave upholstery that was previously seen on the Volvo Estate Concept in 2014. The interior also gets new panel trims along with a new steering wheel option and contrast stitching.

Black headlining will be made available as an option and Volvo’s On Call technology also gets an update. The system already delivers connectivity to Apple Watch and Android Wear, but is now compatible with Microsoft Band 2 connectivity, enabling voice control when using Windows 10-based smartphones. A calendar integration function is now included, connecting your personal calendar to the app and allowing calendar appointment destinations to be sent to your satnav, while a Flic button function has been added to perform tasks such as locking the car or start/stop pre-heating.

The car’s air-con system additionally gets the company’s Clean Zone technology to filter the air let into the cabin.

Volvo will be bringing the facelifted V40 and V40 Cross Country to India later this year. The pre-facelifted models are currently on sale here. Volvo is also set to introduce a new segment in India with the high-riding version of the S60 sedan, the S60 Cross Country. The model will come with all-wheel drive and will be powered by the company’s 178bhp 2.4-litre D4 diesel engine.
