Subaru has previewed its all-electric performance future at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025, with the Performance-E STI concept. The Japanese company says that the Subaru Performance-E STI concept is meant to represent the future of its performance scene, and spearhead the brand’s new generation.

Subaru Performance E STI concept details

Concept features an electric motor on each axle enabling AWD

While Subaru has released very few details of the concept, the company says the Performance –E STI has been designed with influence from the brand's heritage and offers a “driver-friendly layout and a comfortable, spacious interior”. The radical-looking four-door sedan concept takes some influence from Subaru’s iconic Group A winner in its dark blue paint, gold wheels and pink STI detailing. Other highlights of the concept include a dual-axle powertrain setup enabling four-wheel-drive, which promises performance synonymous with Subaru’s image as a maker of performance cars like the rally-bred WRX.

Subaru Performance-B STI concept

It is said to be a concept version based on the current production Impreza

Subaru also has the Performance-B STI concept on display at the mobility show, which is said to be a prototype based on the current production Impreza. Again, the Japanese brand has not revealed many details, but it has confirmed the Performance-B STI has a horizontally-opposed internal combustion ‘boxer’ engine and AWD.
