A couple of days back, Mahindra opened bookings for its new Scorpio. Now, the carmaker has also started taking bookings through the e-commerce website, Snapdeal. The booking amount is Rs 20,000 and customers can pay the rest of the amount at any Mahindra dealership when the car goes on sale, and take delivery. The new Scorpio will be launched on September 25.

The new Mahindra Scorpio retains the 120bhp 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel from the previous car, but sacrifices some torque for improved efficiency. The gearbox is a brand new unit, as is the chassis and the suspension setup. A lot of cosmetic changes, inside and out, have found their way on the new Scorpio; Equipment levels have also been raised. It will be available in five trims namely, S2, S4, S6, S8 and S10.

The new Scorpio is expected to cost around Rs 30,000 more than the current car.

With e-commerce growing exponentially in India, Mahindra collaborating with Snapdeal comes across as a very smart move to make booking process a breeze for prospective buyers.
