Nissan Motors India has roped in Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador for the all-new Micra. The company made this announcement at a function in Mumbai.
The contract is for period of three years in which Ranbir will be seen endorsing the products and services of Nissan in India. A few weeks ago, the company had begun production of the Micra at its plant near Oragadam, with the deliveries commencing from July.
Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD & CEO, NMIPL says, “We are delighted to have Ranbir Kapoor as our brand ambassador. Nissan is a car company with a “Passion for Cars”. Ranbir Kapoor is an extremely passionate, versatile and talented film star and we believe Ranbir with his uber cool charm and mass appeal brings in a perfect connect with our brand.”
The company has also said that with the launch of the new Nissan Micra next month, it will begin a new chapter in India aiming to provide the customers with a full range of products and services.
With the appointment of Kapoor, Nissan becomes the second Japanese car major to appoint a brand ambassador after Toyota Kirloskar Motor which roped in Aamir Khan for the Innova.
Previous brand ambassadors in the passenger car segment include Sachin Tendulkar for the Palio and Shah Rukh Khan for the Santro, Saif Ali Khan for Aveo and Yuvraj Singh for the Punto.
