Volkswagen has launched the Polo GT with a 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine. VW has priced the car at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 1.2-litre TSI motor gets a potent combination of direct injection and turbocharging, resulting in an impressive power output of 103bhp. The engine comes mated to VW's DQ200 seven-speed DSG transmission. However, it does not come with paddle shifters and there is no manual transmission on offer.

VW’s first attempt at cracking the powerful petrol hatch segment in India with the Polo 1.6 didn’t go according to plan, but the carmaker wants to have another go at this segment with this turbocharged Polo.

The booking amount for the Polo GT is Rs 50,000. The car is available in three paint shades - red, white and black.
