Nissan rejigs India line-up

Nissan has made significant changes to its India line-up with some of its models now down to half the number of variants previously on offer.

2016 Nissan Micra line-up (petrol and diesel)

The most significant change in the line-up has occurred with the Micra with the petrol variant dropping the manual gearbox entirely. All petrol variants now come mated to the CVT gearbox only. Both petrol and diesel get two trim levels XL, XL (O) for diesel and – XL CVT, XV CVT for petrol. A driver airbag is offered as standard with two airbags available on the XV petrol. Nissan has discontinued the base XE and top XVP diesel trims. The XVP trim was the only trim in the Micra line-up to offer four airbags.

2016 Nissan Micra Active line-up (petrol only)

Changes to the Micra Active are not as extensive, with Nissan discontinuing only the base XE trim while leaving the other three – XL, XV and XV S – trims unchanged. The Active continues to be offered with a petrol motor paired with a manual gearbox.

2016 Nissan Sunny line-up (petrol and diesel)           

The Sunny line-up has also undergone minor changes with the CVT option now available on the top petrol VX trim in place of the mid-level XL. Additionally, the XV D Premium trim with leather seats has been discontinued. Leather seats are offered as standard on the petrol XV trim only.

2016 Nissan Terrano line-up (petrol and diesel)

Nissan has also revised the Terrano line-up with the deletion of the 85hp diesel XL, 110hp diesel XL and 110hp diesel XV trims. Now, the line-up consists of one petrol variant (XL), two 85hp diesel variants (XE and XL Plus) and one 110hp diesel trim (XV Premium).
