After an action-packed 2025 with as many as four new launches, Mini is readying the Aceman EV for India. Set for a 2026 launch, the Aceman will be positioned as Mini’s entry-level EV in India, below the Countryman Electric, but it is likely to be imported as a fully built model. The Aceman uses an extended version of the architecture that underpins the electric Cooper available abroad.

  1. Mini Aceman EV gets two battery pack options with up to 405km claimed range
  2. Globally, the Aceman EV is positioned between the Cooper and Countryman electrics
  3. Aceman is expected to come to India as an import in 2026

Mini Aceman: What is it?

The Aceman was an all-new addition to Mini’s global line-up when it debuted in April 2024 at the Beijing Motor Show. Even though it is based on the Cooper hatchback, it is currently the only Mini that’s sold exclusively with an electric powertrain. The Aceman is 4,076mm long, 1,754mm wide and 1,515mm high – 192mm longer, 23mm wider and 130mm taller than the Cooper hatchback. The wheelbase, at 2,606mm, is also 111mm longer than the Cooper hatchback’s.

These dimensions also allow for two additional doors, making it a more practical option than the 3-door Cooper available in India. However, the Aceman still has a quintessential Mini-esque look without being too large and SUV-ish like the Countryman.

Mini Aceman battery and range details

In the UK, the Aceman is offered with two battery pack options – 38.5kWh and 49.2kWh – in E and SE trims, respectively. The former is paired with a 184hp/290Nm electric motor for a WLTP-rated range of up to 309km, while the latter gets a 218hp/330Nm electric motor for a WLTP range of 405km. There’s also a higher-spec JCW variant available with the 49.2kWh battery pack; it produces 258hp and can sprint from standstill to 100kph in a claimed 6.4 seconds.

Mini Aceman exterior and interior

The overall aesthetics are slightly sharper than the Cooper’s, with more angular headlamps, squared-out wheel arches and rectangular LED tail-lamps at the rear. The real differentiation, though, is brought about by the rugged body cladding all round, the chunkier bumpers and the roof rails. The interior design also mirrors that of other new Minis and features a large central OLED infotainment display.

The Mini Aceman is currently manufactured only in China, from where it is exported to other markets, but from early 2026, it will also be made in the UK. It remains to be seen which variant of the Aceman Mini will bring to India when it launches the model here in 2026.
