The inaugural edition of the Madras Exotic Car Show, organised to mark the launch of the Madras Exotic Car Club, saw the city’s exotic metal, supercar owners and enthusiasts coming together. The cars were displayed at the Taj Coromandel hotel in downtown Chennai before being flagged off to the Madras Motor Race Track in the outskirts of the city.

The entourage filtering through Chennai’s congested streets was an eye-catching affair, jolting the bystanders and road users out of their Sunday morning slumber with multi-cylinder roars often bringing the traffic to an unscheduled standstill.

Once at the racing circuit, a friendly drag competition allowed supercar owners to experience the limits of their high-performance machines in a safe, controlled environment.

The impressive line-up for the show included Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin Rapide and Jaguar XKR along with multiple Audi R8s, Porsches, BMW M cars and a brand-new Mercedes C63 AMG. The luxury contingent was represented by a couple of Rolls Royce's and Bentley Continentals.
