Toyota Kirloskar Motor has discontinued production of the Etios Liva Sportivo. The special-edition Liva was introduced in an attempt to increase Toyota’s sales in the small car segment. The Sportivo edition featured cosmetic upgrades like additional decals, body kits and special edition badging. Based on the Liva's V trim, the Sportivo was made in partnership with TRD (Toyota Racing Development).

The Liva Sportivo was powered by the 89 bhp 1.5 litre engine with 13.46kgm of torque – figures almost similar to the 1.2 litre Honda Brio's. The bigger engine led to higher duty costs, resulting in an increase in the final price – an important factor why customers shied away from the hatch. The Toyota Etios Liva is now available in four petrol and four diesel variants.
